Building Security, Lock Changes

Those of you in the building on 7/23/16 will already know that a fire alarm went off in the building around 11:30pm and was quickly followed by a flood of partiers exiting the roof and basement rec room. Please know that we, the Board and Management, are doing everything in our power to ensure the safety of all 740 residents. As of this writing, we have taken the following actions:

A police officer will patrol our block, basement, and roof each evening for the next several evenings.

Additional surveillance will be on the property next weekend to prevent a repeat of this evening’s disturbance.

The digital entry system (call box) has been temporarily disabled. This means residents cannot buzz in guests nor are any entry codes active.

All outer door locks will be changed over the course of the next 48 hours. When replacement keys are available, a notice will be posted in the elevator.

These are the updates for now. More information will be posted as soon as it is made availble. In the meantime, please help keep our building secure by firmly closing all doors as you enter or exit the building and do not let anyone follow you in that you cannot confirm as a resident of the building.

Thank you.

  1. Thank you to David Kline for getting the bright red gang graffiti sprayed on the building outside wall painted over in all white.
Thank you to Sara Wilson for setting up this means of communication.
